I love this site, and appreciate all of the good info and advice. I know a lot of you are pro photographers, but I'm curious too what the demographics are for those of you who are not earning your money in photography. Is there a correlation to science? to biology? politics?

Um...sort of none of the above. While I am in college I am shooting for various publications including the University newspaper, yearbook as well as freelancing for a magazine/website dedicated to K-State sports (Powercat Illustrated / GoPowercat.com) so I get my income from that from August - May now.

Before then it was the Service sector =) (working at a golf course) and will continue to work for them in the summer while I am not in school.

And in 6 years (don't ask why it will take that long..........) I will be a Golf Course Architect...

None of the above, I test video games for Bungie... I'm in the Halo 3 credits! Haha. Umm, but I'm a full time student. Without summer jobs I'd have 0 money and 0 camera gear.

I am in the Army which has given me the opportunity to photograph in some unique places. Unfortunately I am in the Army and spend most of my time working.

Braddo_99,

No, no, and no. And even if there were, correlation does not equal cause-ality. So armed with this demographic data, now what?

Interesting poll. But you need a few more categories... like these

Consultant

Technology Development

Student

Law Enforcement

Military

Part of income from Photography

Over Paid Oil Company Executive who just needed a Hobby

well maybe not the last one....

National Park Service. Fort Vancouver NHS. But in addition I shoot local landscape & historic architecture & have them in local gift shops, plus a very few portraits, pets and so on. I don't wish to work too hard. So if I voted I guess I'd have to say Government & Photography.

Interesting the responses.
