Just picked up a set of extension tubes, I know that it's not as good as real macro.
But I think it's pretty good for occasional use.

wanted to share some samples with one tube (32mm), all between f1.4 and f2 on D2Xs :

Beautiful shots, just beautiful. That last one is magical, I'd love to see the colour version of it.

Beautiful photos. And I have to disagree with your comment above. In my opinion, tubes certainly provide real macro, as you have shown, and are a better solution for many compared to having dedicated macro lenses.

Very nice indeed. What tube specifically did you use?

I'd love to turn my 85/1.4 into a macro shooter.

SUPER!!!!!!!
Wow, great images. I bought the 105 macro but have yet to really try and use it much. I just received my Sandisk rebate in a stupid check form so I have to spend it at Adorama (send in the wrong form). I have no idea what I wanted to buy as I'm pretty set on all I need - Now tubes could be a great idea.

Please share which tubes you used as well as any macro tips you used to shoot these. I assume tripod mount - any flash or are these all natural light?

Thanks,
Michael

I'm sorry to hear that extension tubes don't do "real" macro. I guess mine go on the junkheap of failed ideas.

Thanks all for your comments.

Michael : I shot handheld (iso200-400) and natural light. I only tried the 32mm so far.

Wow these are fabulous macro shots shot with an 85 1.4...think you might get similar results with a 1.8?
