I had to take a break from pp'ing photos from Mexico, so I put the old Sears rowboat out on the lake on Mother's Day, of course it's equipped with a tripod, ballhead/sidekick. All shot with the Mk III, 300 f2.8 and either 1.4 or 2x extenders. C & C. Herb

Herb, back to the mundane are we? Nice work, the phoebe is outstanding, wonderful detail. To me it seem obtuse to see "shorebirds" in the grass, I only see them on the shore. Not sure what that last one is but it is well done. Great job.

What a nice series. If I had to pick it would be the Kingbird.

I love shooting from boats... However, my set up seems a little less refined than yours. Hmm.. there must be a way to rig a more permanent tripod mount type deal into my kayak...

These look just like the combo of species I see when I'm out paddling, though I've yet to get my camera close to a flicker.

I really like #2 as well.

Thanks Josh. I haven't tried any of my dslr equipment in the kayak yet, though I'm thinking of a 70-200 f2.8 on my 40D handheld for that. I think the kayak is too tipsy for any tripod type equipment.
