Hi there fellows,

my question is in regards to the foam used by Pelican and other cases manufactures, I love Pelican cases, even so a little heavy they provide great protection.

The Q? is, does anyone knows any foam insert or Pre-Cut foam that is dust free?

Or do you guys think I'm over reacting on the dust particles that you see all over the lenses and gear every time you open the case?

Is the gear safe from that type of dust particles?

I just don't like the solutions provided by any of the dividers, as I fill is both messy and unpratical.

Thanks much for your inputs.

ciao,

WOW.

That's the most meticulous Pelican case I've ever seen. No wonder you want dust free foam

I highly doubt you'd be able to find anything... maybe something exists for a highly specialized scientific/quantitative field - but for a volume like that, you'd be looking at a serious expenditure.... possibly in the thousands. Of course, this is all just conjecture.

Maybe you should just make one extra cut-out for a can of compressed air?

Yeah, you should see my Cine camera case!

I don't know why I'm so visual, even when putting stuff in a case, I guess I like the gear as much as I like shooting haha!

I actually found today, a company in Burbank, CA, and they say that they could custom cut the foam and then do two coatings on the top of it, so it does not pick away or produce dust, will see soon in off, pricing is just about the same as other manufacturers that do custom cut foam cases.

And yes I actually have a separate case with tools and cleaning kits, and the Mini Compressor is in it!!

I hate to point this out, but, the second lens from the left, the lens cap is crooked.

Just to show you the Cinema camera case, I know you get a kick out of it.

And I will be making a Laser Pre cut Antistatic foam with Pelican.

Woah... nice RED. Would you be able to post some still-frames from the camera? I've been very curious.

Thanks!

Will do Jonathan, but it will take a while, since I'm waiting on a Birger mount, which will allow me to use my L series canon EF lenses on it, can't wait!
