For those who outsource, do you do additional work to your files ? Does it save you enough time to warrant using the service ?

I have outsourced several times and every time I end up editing again as they can never seem to get the style and appearance that best reflects my work or my personal style. In addition I have found that it gets very pricey for what you get and can only conclude that good digital editors are taking me to the cleaners for what they do. In one case I gave 4 what I call "home editors" each 4 images to edit as close to my style as they could. One nailed it, 2 kind of nailed it and one didn't have a clue what they were doing or how to get to the end result I wanted but yet called themself a professional editor.. In every case I asked them to give me a quote for future editing based on the images I provided to them In short..... The average cost of the 4 images as $35 an hour for what I could do myself in literally 5 minutes per image! These folks are pretty darn proud of themselves and the larger commercial outfits were even worse yet. Do the math. Right now I can do about 15-20 images an hour to their one or two. I just realized I am in the wrong business.....screw the photography..... If you want me to edit your photos for you I am officially for hire!!!!! at a reduced rate of $20 / hr!!!!

OT, but have any of you gotten pms about outsourcing for PPing? this guy pmed me a few times asking to do some processing for me. thing is, i dont post any of my work up here. i want to know how many people he asked

Wow, interesting facts........I used one service for two weddings and the results were acceptable........not outstanding, just acceptable........I still had to go in and tweak the expos...........i guess there is NO ONE who can edit like YOU.....it's so personal.......
