Well, my trusty 19 inch Sony CRT died this morning after 10 years of good service. I figure I might as well jump on the LCD bandwagon, but I have no idea where to start.

I'm learning about the different types of displays...TN, IPS, MVA, and PVA, But I don't see this information listed in LCD specs.

So first off, how can I found out what type of technology a screen uses and second what would be a good LCD for around $400?

look at the recent threads....they have links to panel type databases, the $400 LCD is also a popular price point. It should all be in the first couple pages of this topic.

I'll make ya a killer deal on a Dell 19" CRT. A very nice one.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm hoping for something a bit bigger.
