Well, as promised, I went back to the flowers.. and the birds were there of course

#1 Common Yellowthroat.. these guys have a lot of spunk!

#2 American Robin.. he was cooperative enough to really let me play with my composition.

#3 Red-winged Blackbird.. who could resist those flowers?!

#4 Common Yellowthroat.. still looking for worms

Thanks for lookin!

Lovely colors! I like the robin rising out of the blur!

I think they are all a great take on wildlife in general.. Not your typical compositions and the creative use of DOF is stunning. The robin is my favorite I think. I love shooting through the dandelions.. I will have to remember that trick for the future

Thanks There's enough picture perfect poses of birds out there.. so I try to come up with my own take on things that emphasize their character and habitat when possible. I've become a big fan of foreground blur like in the robin.. it makes the bird really appear as if it's in it's natural environment to me.

The best of both worlds Floris...You've done a wonderful job of integrating the two. I'm not choosing because each on it's own is stellar. You've gotta a theme going for you here.

Wonderful shots. The unique take in your shots is very compelling. I especially like #3. Just spectacular.
