I read a little on technique for photographing hummers, got up early to get a few shots. The little guy is still a little wary of me but getting better. I positioned the feeder and blocked off all feeding spots but the one I wanted him to feed from. I have found manual focus the best for these as they dart back and forth so fast, I just pre-focus and fine tune when they arrive.

he are a few from this morning, a little more fine tuning needed on the position for best lighting and colour.

Thanks for looking
Jim

Your are getting better fast! I like the wing blur in 1&2.

Thanks guys, just to give you an idea of how small these are, it's approx. the length of my thumb from beak tip to tail feathers. It's been great watching them even without taking pictures, he landed in a tree a few feet away to give me an idea what he looks like without those wings going like 90!

Thanks
Jim
