I have a questions about shooting baseball...either LL or MLB.

Are you shooting in AV mode more often or in M mode? If shooting in AV mode, are you getting the correct shutter speed often. I know in M mode you can control what shutter speed you want.

Thanks,

(fyi, i shoot with an XTi and 70-200 f/4)

In general, I use Av when the light is changeable, and M when the light is consistent. Changeable also includes when shooting in a venue that has shadows along with areas in bright sunshine.

Shooting in Av, I normally will add +1/3 or +2/3 of EC to bring the faces out from under the bills of caps. Shooting M, I'll meter off the grass (in the sun) and add one stop - normally by dropping down ISO, but can also be done by taking you meter reading at f/4.0 then opening up to f/2.8 (or f/5.6 to f/4.0).

Overexposing runs the very real risk of blowing out white uniforms a little, but this is normally preferable to under-exposing faces.

Hope this helps.
