One thing I noticed in my portfolio was that everything appeared dull, the models appeared static, and everything was too clean cut and premeditated...... I wanted a splash of color in my book, I wanted implied motion, and I wanted to stop making "pretty" images and desired more gritty and raw imagery with a touch of randomness. I think I've accomplished them all with this shoot.

Canon 5D, 24-70/2.8 @ 50mm, F/9, 1/80, ISO400, AB1600 with 22" beauty dish.

They are actually eyelashes. She had them under her right eye as well but the wind was so strong that day, they got ripped off.

I like the yellows, but I'm digg'n the blue and red tones so much.

I like a lot about this image.

I like the concept, composition and lighting.

I like the colors. The model is not bad either.

I like the use of the props, wind, and hair blowing.

I don't like the way the hair covers the tip of her nose. I generally don't mind hair across a face, but this time it seems to visually change the tip shape of her nose in a way I don't find attractive. Perhaps it is that part of the peacock feather that is so dark and leads right to her nostril.

Also, I suggest reducing the amount of the specular highlight on the brass bracelet.

Coincidentally, I recently photographed a young woman wearing the same earings. I also made it 'colorful' as I too was getting tired of doing so much BW work.

Keep up the good work.
