From this afternoon. Cheers, Gene

I won't even go there with whats wrong with the first three or a title for them. This behavior went on for a bit and the recipient wasn't happy!

Been a long time since I have been able to get close enough to a Northern Flicker to get a shot.

Very nice work Gene! They are well done. I hate to say but my favorite is 5, I just love flickers. What's the magic of that post? You seem to have all sorts of good things going on there!

It is a very long fence surrounding an enclosure of Bison with surrounding prairie. On the posts I have gotten fliclkers, meadowlarks, cowbirds, tree swallows, barn swallows, starlings, mourning doves, rough winged swallows, rwbb, wrens, ....

Cheers

You are VERY naughty to post #s 1-3. And yeah, yeah - ok -- they're super!! But my favorite is the last one. The comp is just fabulous, and the overcast light did well for this one.

Well that overcast flat light sure brought out a wonderful image on that egret, I really like that shot. Lucky 'post' on that flicker, the light is special and the BG in the first Flicker shot is just excellent. Now, the first three shots................well, I think you said it best

Incredible shots Gene. Looks like that Swallow needs a good lady. I think the guy on the bottom has a good harrasment case going with this kind of evidence . Super series overall!

If I didn't know any better I would guess you took these over in Anthony's neck of the woods. Great photos of male matting, Gene. Thanks for sharing.

interesting note here: I found out a while ago that birds actually rape each other. Never really had though about it before so when I heard it I was shocked. Female ducks actually have a maze on the inside to ward of non-wanted perps...

Great composition and sharpness! I don't yet have a lens power to do alot of small bird photography so more power to ya!

Thanks Karl,
Those (first 3 and flicker) were late in the day with some nice light.
