Spent two evenings at the Baylands recently. The snowy egrets and great egrets are becoming quite active, and the duck pond is always entertaining. By the way, I highly recommend bringing a bottle of wine while photographing egrets in the evening – makes an already enjoyable experience even more fabulous!!! As always, comments and critiques are most sincerely welcome.

Very nice series Susan. My favorites are #2, 3, 6, 7 and 9. Looks like you were handling your gear quite steadily after the bottle of wine. May be I should take a bottle of whisky in my next outing.

Absolutely gorgeous pictures and most probably among the most beautiful shots of these birds I have seen in a while.
The Egretta tula or snowy egrets are well known by their black legs and yellow feet. I am sure you know they only show feathers like those when they are in breeding season. Here in South Florida they are more plentiful during the winter months. I tried many times to photograph them at the Everglades National Park, always unsuccessfully. During a visit with the family to the Miami Zoo there was a beautiful one posing for me at the very entrance. The picture came out great and the enlargement printed with a professional HP printer was awesome. Life is full of surprises I guess!
Congratulations for your excellent shots.

Ummm.........Wow Susan Nice touch on these. Well disciplined exposures and backlight control. First, thank goodness for dutiful husbands building nest OK, now a few favorites, #3 and #11 just beautiful. Wonderful presentation, and great attention to details on your part.
