Ive been asked to take a couple shots to be put on a mother's day card for next week. So this is my fav from the set, did a high key shot, I wish I didn't lose some parts of the arms, but anyways, let me know what you guys think. Thank you.

My Simple Suggestion:
Shoot to get the arms/figure/face in the initial exposure. Then work in PP to get the final look you want. More control with PP.

I hope this comment helps you.

It's very nice, shame about the arms, but I don't think the lucky lady will mind. And you can always paint it in ;-)

FWIW, her face is exposed correctly.

I use this technique alot and sometimes you lose exposure on parts of the body. IMO, this look would not be nearly as effective in PP.

Fantastic shot

If that's the case then the photog should work on controlling the contast in the image to prevent the arms from blowing out so drastically. That is of course, if he wants more detail in the arms.

I like the technique used it's similar to a processing technique I use to use for printing B&W enlargements. Normally you would warm the developer fluid to the correct temperature before processing but by using cold fluid with an extended development time you'd end up with a print where most of the mid-tones and all the highlights were blown away but the shadows were jet black. It was a really cool effect but difficult to get right all of the time.
