some first impressions... i like the color and the images are lovely for the most part, but there are some things that would turn me off right away as a bride.

the "check your date" thing on the splash page really ruins the aesthetic.

load time was looooooooong (and i'm on a super-fast connection)

text. lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of text. have someone proof your text sections in addition to the length, the grammar/sentence structure needs some serious work.

good luck, and hope that helps,
kate

The check your date thing, must be on a HTML page, and since its a flash site, it make sence to place it on the splash page.

Makes me feel less cool now.

I'll agree that the text on there really really needs to be looked at. I don't feel any connection with you as a photographer, just a person. Get rid of the technical stuff, your clients don't care what you have. If they do, do you want those clients? IMO, your clients should go to you because of your portfolio.

I know you asked more for the website, but, to me, the photography really really impacts the overall opinion of the website. Some of the subjects in there look really really uncomfortable, which makes me worry if I'll look the same if I were to hire you. Others look great, but there were more than 4-5 that looked terribly uncomfortable to the point where I could remember how many there were. I'd rethink those.

then i'd lose it entirely.

you want a bride to be oohing and aahing from the moment your site hits the screen, and the date box is really a killer.

Unless you have some kinda licensing for that music, get rid of it.

Overall I like it - loaded fine for me - I'd loose pics #7 #11 from the bridals - they don't flatter .....

#9 of the bridals is stunning

Music - love it or hate it - not for me - perhaps off as default ?

Gary,
I didn't like the music and more importantly it's what causing the really slow down load times.

The MP3 file for the music is 5,286 KB.
So the entire MP3 file and all the rest of the images have to be down loaded before your potential customers see anything.

I waited more than 30 seconds for the opening page to come up. (comcast cable internet)
No way a potential customer will wait that long.

I have comcast too, but I have had others check my site, and they are not reporting 30 seconds, Its about 6. I also use lunar pages they could be a little slow. But I will look into the size of the MP3.

Took over well 30 seconds for the broadband page to load. It will cause a lot of potential clients to move on.

I checked 3 different times and it took between 2.5 and 4 seconds to load on my Comcast... very quick...

My suggestions is that music is a little much and I would like to see your photo when I click the about feature, or about the artist, not on the front page. Some nice images Gary,

Tom

For what it's worth, if I go to a website with music, I click the back button on my mouse, and go to the next one in the list.
I do the same with sites that stay at the loading content please wait for more than a few seconds.

I'd loose the music all-together, it would fix both of the above issues

Tom

You lost me, you said you wanted to see my photo when you click the about feature, I don't have an about link, I have a link that says The Team and when you click it, my photo is there, its not on the front page of the slideshow.

14 seconds to load here, Roadrunner Cable.

Up to you to decide, but most sites I look at don't take that long to load.
