I'm curious, has anyone contacted SK Grimes about making a G-EOS adapter? They have a great reputation for being able to fabricate or modify almost anything. I'm not trying to take business from Mark, but he's not in it for the money, and it might be nice to have another option. Just a thought.

Looks like Mark is updating general status on his website, which is good, in case anybody is interested. Looks like most of us are looking at July delivery.

http://www.16-9.net/nikon_g/

"SHIPPING STATUS UPDATES:
We have now fired the adaptor supplier causing us so much grief, and today placed an order with a Japanese supplier of a very similar adaptor that we have determined performs equally well with the Nikon 14-24mm, even on a 1Ds III. We are confident that the long lead times of the past few months will soon be over, as soon as we clear the order backlog. The first 25x orders placed from January 5 will ship before the end of June. All subsequent back-orders should now ship early in July.
June 12th: Second batch of base adaptors arrives for first stage modification
June 11th: 100x base adaptors ordered from alternative supplier, scheduled for arrival at the end of June"

sweet!

Mark if we have already ordered and not specified our camera model, for pin or no pin, what is the appropriate channel to let you know?

1ds3 (no pin) for me if you're checking this thread.

You can email me at the domain 16-9.net. The address is mark@...

As background to this, Canon has now moved away from using mechanical confirmation switches in the body mount, so you'll only need a pinned adaptor if you intending to stick with a Mark I or II Canon 1 Series body. The 1D and 1Ds Mark III (and the 5D) and (it would seem) all future models will not require the extra mod.

I humbly implore those who get their adapters in July and beyond to post samples at their earliest convenience so that the body of knowledge concerning this combo continues to grow.

Just the beginning we will see more to come. But the more we learn today the more we will be better off tomorrow. We live and we learn and thus today I am also completed the Hasselblad Carl Zeiss Lens to the Nikon DSLR and Mamiya AFD adapters. This time every single adapter has quality control.

Through baptism a new man will rise. I am sure with the opportunity Mark will make his adapter better and with more experiences he will improve his adapter even more. He has contributed greatly to the community from his own site, here and else where and so giving him the chance to pioneer a whole new ground in these adapters I am sure the out come will be better for all of us and we will learn much more. I praise his dedication and pioneer passion. For those that see murky water and decided to go fishing your character will shown through. I urge that working together will solve many issues and making adapters is not as simple since there are too many processes that has to go through prior to the product. The risks are high and the gain is low and only passion will lead him to such path but his hard working effort will benefit all of us who are looking for a solution.

Best Regards,
-Son
