Here's my friend Ashley these shots were taken before she got signed with an agency . I shot this with Elinchrom 400ws with softbox. Last photo, used elinchrom bare and used the walls to bounce the light . Shot with XTI with 50mm f1.8

Very nice lighting. The first one looks great as A B&W, good job.

Great pictures, lighting, etc... , especially considering the gear you have used... It prove that you are really good, and we don't need a top camera when you know how to use it..... Congratulations...

thanks guys for the comments!

michel: my XTI served me well and dont have any regrets buying it. I will be upgrading this weekend since Im doing 'bigger' things that requires a better body.. my XTI will still serve me as a backup/2nd camera..

c cross: very true! we still talk and last i heard is that she will be in big posters around the Toronto Area in early May! im excited for her!

I love the photos except for the off axis tilting. I know it is a "fad" right now, but in my opinion ruins an otherwise gorgeous set of photos.

My comments below are intended to help and are not a criticism of you, your model or your skill/talent. So my comments are offered in a friendly tone of voice and intended to help with a different POV.

Just consider them as CC for "continual improvement" to consider.

I find the "Titantic Tilt" on the first image greatly distracting. Looks totally unnecessary for effect on a static (sitting) subject. Just looks like too much "effect" overpowering the content/subject.

I also think the #1 image looks like the texture is missing from skin and figure. In the image as shown here on the web, the skin looks to be the same as the sofa in texture and tone. Put simply, she looks like vinyl or somewhat like an illustration.

I hope you find these comments helpful.

Thanks jerry and steadyhand for ur critiques

to tell u guys honestly, im getting mixed 'opinions' about the tilting of the photo.. personally, i like the photo..the 'tilting' added 'interestingness' to the photo..

I also noticed that only 'photographers' comment on the tilting and end up not liking the photo because of it. everyone else who's not a photographer likes it (the modelling agency, the model, friends, etc) so is the reason, just because of the Unwritten rule that we are not supposed to tilt the camera and always straighten the horizon, etc?

Nice shots, however #1 is unbalanced, the picture has to many dark objects on the left side. I get the feeling it will fall in the counterclockwise direction. #2 I'm missing some shadows, I can't even say it looks flat, but i lacks an expression or sth (I see just objects put in a room: the girl, bird cage, flowers...) and her foot in the left shoe doesn't look nice. There are a couple more distracting details, but it all depends on how picky one is

Always difficult to critique when the model is gorgeous too!

I have to take issue with #2 - her foot is bulging out of that tiny shoe!

I'm going to go against the grain...
the tilt works....the angle matches the left leg..
The viewer is naturally drawn up her leg and then to her face...its a natural progression. I popped the image in PS and rotated...does nothing for me.

Great job...superb lighting.

The tilt in the first one really bothers me too.
