Hey all,

Was just thinking that I've never put a fresh battery in my 30D and had it run dead. Sure, I've 'em run out of juice when they've already been in the camera for a while or when I'm out in cold weather, but never killed a fresh one in warm weather.

Because of this, I have no idea how many exposures that I can get on one charge. Anybody actually count?

Just wondering,

Canon Brand name got me 2102, Delkin 1784. Of course this is daytime, no noise reduction, no IS, very efficient use of body and focus, no playback, etc.

When I use IS, or focus more, etc, I never can get above about 1300. Haven't counted that as much, as it usually goes several days with this kinda of shooting.

Not an exact number but on my 30d & 20d I get roughly around 1200 on a full charge when I am using an IS lens and playback etc...I was initially quite surprised how much power the IS does drain when I added an IS lens to my collection... And somewhat off topic I am really shocked how little of shots I get on my my 5d (around 500 or so)....

Thanks for the responses.

I don't think there is going to be any need for me to get another battery any time soon. I have two that came with cameras (300d & 30D) and another that I bought as a backup because the max that the original 300D would take at one time was about 200. Three batteries = at min. 3600 pics! I've only got memory cards for about 500 RAW images anyway.

Looks like you are set.... When/if you do want to get a new battery check out sterlingtek batteries.. you sure can't beat the price of $12.99 for a battery.... I own 8 of them along with 4 Canon batteries and have had no problems with the sterlingtek ones (or the Canons)....
