I've seen the last two IIn's on SS go for 2000-2200. I think it's just a matter of what people will still pay. With the trickle of blue dot mkIII's starting to show up it's inevitable that the IIn's will drop. |

Prices on camera models come down when a replacement is available. Had the 1DMIII not exhibited a number of high-profile problems, the 1DIIN price would be in the $1500-2000 range by now. Instead, it remains at $2000 plus. Unfortunately, that price is probably going to remain pretty steady, dropping only as shutter counts and overall condition changes. Even after the 1D-next is released, there will be a period of latency as the market closely inspects that camera to ensure it is a reliable replacement. If it is a solid camera, expect the price on the 1DIIN to drop slowly over the following 6-12 months and expect the price on the 1DMIII (unless a REAL fix is available) to drop like a rock. |
