Hi, I thought some of you maybe interested to see how this combo goes at festival shooting. I used M mode and shot at f2.8 and kept adjusting the timing and ISO (800-1600) to suit the light. The web gallery is 10mb so if you have a slow connection it may be a bit slow.......thanks, feedback is welcome, taojones

Very nice. I even recognized a few faces! That looked like a great festival. Who were you shooting for?

Very nice work. I enjoyed all of your galleries. I recognised a couple of faces from Womad 2008.

thanks..I was shooting for the bluesfest itself. To add to the info I shot with spot metering in raw and processed through lightroom. All outside shots 24-70mm in P mode ISO 400. Some shots outside with fill in flash. When I used the flash at night outside I used M mode ISO 800 f5.6 at 1/6th of a second, I like the slight blur effect this setting gives and makes for good BW.....thanks again t

PS software used for web gallery is a free program but well worth donating to, link below.

Most of those artists have played over the years but now it has become a mixture of music, with world music, jazz, folk, blues etc. I think maybe changing the name would be good but its so well known in Australia as 'The Bluesfest' they will probably stick with it..thanks t www,bluesfest.com.au

thanks for the link, I was already using simpleviewer, but this just makes life so much easier and give a few more options.

Enjoyed your Bluesfest gallery. Some great captures.

like i said...when i think of the blues.

w/ brown, knopfler and davies i think of 80's pop/rock...not blues.

Wow. I just checked these out. Almost all of these photos are great musician portraits in their own right! I guess you were really "in the zone". I particularly like the last one of the first page.

The lighting guy at that show really brought his A-game too, it looks like.

Very good set. I'm interested in seeing what you think are your best shots? (I got lost in the gallery because there's no indication how many pictures there are or were passed).
