hi folks,

i have an elinchrom d-light 4 that is only firing when at the value 4.2 or stronger. i already exchanged the flash tube but that didnŽt help. is this somehing serious, known bug, does that come with age or heavy usage? worth repairing?

At best take it to the service, there's not much that you can do. Maybe it's a flaw in the microprocessor, a weak ignition coil, who knows?

i took them back where i bought them, who are also an authorized repair shop too. Took 2 weeks. I also got a new tension knob that I broke but known to break really easily.

I broke one of mine too, but it was quickly replaced at no charge.
I have heard of these power problems.
I got one of the first batches of D-Lites 2 years ago, and appart from the occasional overheating problm, I haven't had any problems with them.
Have to admit.. I am eyeing up the Style 600 RX to add to my lights.

they fixed mines really quick! went to the post office on monday, got the message on thursday that the postman tried to deliver them and pickedŽem up on friday at my post office. had a shooting on friday evening and both units worked as new. after the shooting i broke that handle....

@akiwi, i just ordered a pair of the style 600rx with skyport rx and a deep throat softbox (must be the best softbox on earth, everyone who has one loves it and the sample pics are just awesome), so that they can send me that bloody handle for free.

I had a Ranger RX that did the same. Anything below 7, didn't fire. Sucked.
