Another image from last week. I really wanted to catch the flowers backlit, and I like that part of the image, but I'm not sure about the sky. Is the right side too distracting for you?

It works very well as it is for me. The bright sky looks very natural.

Hey Kevin,

It looks pretty natural as a light source. The flowers are backlit from that direction, so it does come across pretty natural I think. Great work here!

Kevin
Works for me. I like the placement of the diagonal rows. Hard to crop the lower right anyway.

Hello Kevin,

Beautiful image. The rows of flowers are intense and the dynamic contrasts in the sky work very well. Good work.

I've run into the same problem with skies, as you mention. The bright side just seems to pull my eye and unbalance things. Maybe I'm oversensitive to it bc it is a problem I have already encountered. Anyways, the rest of the image is great.

Gorgeous shot. It looks like the DOF drops off really fast... is that the case or is that just the lower rez of the web?

Still, very nice.

Well done with difficult circumstances. Maybe a GND filter would help in this situation. Where is this Kevin?

Terry, I don't think there is a dof issue here. I'll look at the original file, but most likely a combo of compression and some motion in the flowers-there was a slight breeze (as there almost always is in skagit valley).
Thanks everyone for the comments. I figured this would be ok for some and not for others.

zeph, this is a blend of two exposures, so it's already toned down a lot. this is taken from the Skagit Valley near Mt. Vernon.
