I just got back from a two day trip up to Yosemite. It snowed prior to my arrival and then again on the last night of my stay. I awoke to 5 inches of fresh powder. It was indeed a winter wonderland. It was amazing!

I like it but just wish that limb wasn't there. I would love to see some more from there as I was always hoping to be lucky enough to see this place under snow.

Please post some more.

Thanks,
Carl

Posted another one for you. I haven't had much time to work on any of the others.

Wow, Jimmy, pretty nice. Yeah, the limb is a big element, but I don't mind it there. I'm heading there next week, and I want the same conditions..

Very nice shot Jimmy. I'm planning to go up there again maybe this weekend.
I hope the snow will stay this time

Jim, very nice pictures of this winter wonderland. Find the composition in number one very intriguing, thanks to that limb.

Thanks Jeffrey. I was struck by the tree in the first place and I decided to use it to frame Half Dome a bit. Just trying to get something different of Half Dome. I heard there was another storm that hit today, so hopefully there will be more and it will stay cold for the snow to hang on for you to show. Keep me informed.

Thanks Jose. I hope you have fun and get some snow, too. I am addicted now, so maybe I can steal away again and go up for a night or two soon.

To me, the limb is not in the way, it is the main subject with Half Dome being merely a nice background. I love that shot.

Thanks Sunny...it's amazing up there. You gotta go. I might be going again soon, so maybe I will swing up to LA and kidnap you and we'll go see the great valley full of snow.

Thanks, Helene. I liked the limb, too, but was having trouble with the composition, as it was a little difficult with all the snow. I didn't want to disturb the limb and rest of the tree in fear of knocking off the snow.

Cool work Jimmy! I was fortunate to have shot Yosemite after a snow storm once and it was great! My favorite times at Yosemite are winter and spring and I think as you said just after snowfall it is like a wonderland. Funny, I used that for a title of one my shots during the winter as welll

Thanks Randy! Indeed it was a wonderland. Sorry if I stole your title a bit. Have a great New Years!

Jimmy,

I've seen a lot of shots of Half Dome from the usual perspectives.

This shot is a refreshing view of a familiar subject.

Love the limb and the composition.
