Hey guys and girls!

I just wanted to share this photos with you. These were taken with a 5D, 430ex flash in a ring diffuser that I made.

C&C also appreciated, I hope you like them!

Lets see your set-up. I don't think its a "ring flash" like it should be.

Still, nice pictures.

I like them - a lot. You say you made the ring diffuser? Care to share the details?

Pierre.

wow, thanks for the quick replies...

Yes, it sure is a ringflash, but its quite small. I didnt like the little donat-shaped catchlights, so I just filled the inside and now its a dot.

Here is a link to my blog, containing a tutorial on how to make it:

I like #3 the best.

Thanks for your explanation of the flash modifier.

I think overall the lighting is very nice, and I was also looking for the ringflash in the eyes. One suggestion though is that the pupils are almost wide open during your flash - almost like that's the only light in the room. I think that if you had another light source, you could get the pupils to close more and look normal which would show a lot more of the iris (colored part of the eye). Regardless, the photos are very nice.

I like them all but the third is special. The highlight work and edge around the model's lips are super

I love 2 and 3, regardless of the light modifier.

I really like #3 but my preference would be to crop it below the hand to keep the focus on her face.

real nice b&w conversions. The close crops really make her eyes be the focus point. good job

#1 & #3 are great -just fix those catchlights!

But I have a problem with #2. Where's her body? Where are her legs? It looks like a magic trick.

Love the lips on 3, but the missing legs on 2 spoil it for me.

great job on the pics Jure - but save yourself the trouble on the ring flash and get one of these: http://www.flaghead.co.uk/pages/ringflash-intro.html
BTW - they now have a US distributor for anyone in the US who's interested: ringflash@expoimaging.net
