You definitely should be fine with the 24-105. The car show that I attended last year I took my then owned 1DII and 17-40, and I shot between ISO 800 and 1600 and the shots came out fine for the most part. Plus, you have IS on the lens, so I think coupled with the low noise of the 5D, you will make out fine. |

I was just wondering what lens for a car show that is coming in a few weeks. I will be using a 40D and I just got the 85L so I was wondering if that would be a good lens option. Pretty much my only other option would be the 70-200 f4IS. |

If you have to stand back with your 85, be prepared to ask passersby to remain clear for your shot. |

Yeah 24-105L should be fine for The Auto Show in Toronto (if that's where you're headed). I was there last Sunday and most displays are pretty well lit and your IS should help out on the ones that aren't. |

Best time to shoot at indoor car shows are when no-one is there. |
