The situation has remained extremely tense in Nairobi over the past few days. This is an image taken soon after an opposition MP was assassinated. Angry young men were gathering in the streets of Kibera slum in Nairobi when I took this image of a young girl coming out of her house. The graffiti on the stairs is representative of messages that are appearing all over Nairobi's slums. This image is part of a documentary project to shed light on the impact of the current crisis on vulnerable groups. Since starting it, I have been joined by two Kenyan freelance photographers, and together we will be ramping up our efforts in the days to come. ![]() Edited by Spyros D on Feb 03, 2008 at 10:54 PM GMT (Reason: replaced original image with sharper version) |

Thanks for the feedback Steady. I've increased sharpening on the image - does this look better? |
