i adore adoramapix for printing - the 16x20 metallics have been especially amazing.

but... as much as i hate to say it, i was really disappointed with the quality of their photobooks. we got a couple a few months back and the outer binding was cracking within a week of opening and closing. the top where the binding is "gathered" was really messy. i wouldn't even consider them for proofing.

again - that aside - i love, love, love adoramapix. the customer service is beyond stellar and the quality of all my other purchases has been top-notch!

edited to remove info about pages - i was mistaken & it was another company's sample that had single-sided pages

Nice work.

I've been using Lifetime Albums for the last 4 years. I would personally put them on the higher end part of the album list next to Kiss and Graphi. They also offer the lowest custom design service that I've seen.

For photo lab, I didn't see Bay Photo Lab on your list. I've been using them for years and very happy with their customer service and quality.

I'm baffled by this. I've been using adoramapix books for a while now and:

"the outer binding was cracking within a week of opening and closing."
My wife uses one of these books to showcase her custom cakes at trade shows and by clients at her shop. Despite being handled by hundreds and hundreds of people over months, the binding has never cracked.

"the top where the binding is "gathered" was really messy"
Not sure what you mean by this either, can you provide an image? I have about 10 different photobooks sitting on my desk right now and upon close inspection none of them exhibit anything that sounds like this.

"super-cheesy to have single sided pages with the paper co. logo plastered all over the back"
How could you get a single-sided page? The way their binding works, each spread seems to be glued back to back with the next spread. If there were single-sided pages the book would have nothing holding it together. In dozens of book orders I've never seen a paper co. logo even once.

Are you sure you aren't confusing adoramapix with someone else? Perhaps you could provide some pictures?

actually - i do apologize for that last bit. the single sided was NOT the adoramapix book. the other feedback is accurate, however, and if i get some spare time, i wouldn't mind sharing images at all. please understand, it's not at the top of the priority list, though.

as i said in the initial reply - i love their printing - but the book was sub-par.

Two things I found very useful.

Flash photography, great website on getting the most from you hotshoe flash:

http://www.planetneil.com/tangents/ loads of information in the blog but also in the dedicated sections on equipment.

Once back on the computer here is the best instruction book on retouching, it is by Gry Garness, very in depth and complete eBooks on retouching using CS3 or CS4.

I could have sworn white house custom color was on the album list last time I checked. Maybe I'm going blind-- that would be a REAL problem! lol

I searched the album links but found none that fit into what i would like.

What Am looking for is the blank album that will fit roughly ~200 5x7 or ~300 4x6.
I need them to be impressive, durable as well as right price (~30/each maybe?).
I already give them other album, and like to add a second album that contain other non-specialty-photos album (but wont cost much for me or for them) into my package.
Please help if you know where or any suggestion

I will leave it here, but we try only to list businesses that work ONLY with professionals, etc. Many photographers use and love Animoto, but many chose not to for those same reasons.

Thanks for the contribution!
