Looks like a Rough-legged Hawk (Buteo lagopus) in a light-morph. Great shots of it too, I really like the first one

Yea looks like a rough legged hawk, hard to get close to them in my experience, #1 is great!

Thanks for the comment. Same here, if I slowed down any they would keep an eye on me and get restless and if I stopped off they flew. Made it hard to drive and shoot out the window.

Love the first three Leo. The intensity in the hawk's eye you've managed to catch.

Great capture.

#1 is fantastic. Clear and crisp with a great even bg and a pleasing comp. That one is a winner. Great bird too. Thanks for sharing.

Leo -
Can't help with the ID, but these are beautiful shots of a beautiful raptor (My favorite kind of birds).

Pretty much just to echo what has already been said. I love the first, it works beautiful with the eye contact.

All are super. I like the second and third the best - the first is great but the composition, color and the plants in number 2 and the action of 3 make them standouts to me. Nice capture. Steve W
