Yes, the balloon had a safety system to allow the balloon to be cut away and emergency chutes deployed including crumple zones for landing, that being said, it still would not have been a pleasant landing. The only issue he reported was that his visor was fogging up through the colder air at around 70'000 ft, but as he descended that went away.

Wednesday show was cancelled due to weather. Thursday was nice until clouds rolled in 30 minutes before the show. I used a 400mm F/5.6 on a 1D3. Sorry for the frozen blades on the super puma. Low shutterspeeds isn't my thing.

Spot the Saab Grippen F demonstrator which was in the country for further evaluation.

I was out with the Squadron for their Fall Gliding... A bit chilly and breezy with 9kt gusting 14kt from 20 degrees off the pipe but we got it done.


The Cadet WO1 of our Squadron is quite the character.
