It is easy to sign up as a buyer.....have seller send you a google checkout invoice after you are signed up.

The advantage for the next week or so is that there is no fee involved, even with credit cards....then they are to convert to a fee system

Oh thanks alot, it 's a little confusing vs.paypal, but I hate paypal ripped off fee, it's robbery if you sell/buy high end items.

Google has extended their no-fees policy through Feb 1, 2008. One extra month of free processing... I'll be selling off a ton of stuff come Jan 5 or so.

I got that notification direct from Google so no idea if that applies to everyone or not. YMMV.

To answer the original question, yes. And like Dave said, it's easy to get set up as a buyer. It looks like a good alternative to paypal.

I just set myself up as a seller, it was easy. I just did it to enable someone here on FredMiranda to buy a lens from me without paying the paypal 3%.

It worked out very nicely, I recommend doing it, at least until Google starts charging.
