24x36 print with your 350D? What's your largest print with the Canon 350?

Someone is interested in buying one of my prints but is looking at a minimum size of 24x36. The image was shot with a Canon 350D (8 megs) at full resolution - 3456 x 2304. I will have to do a little post-processing (sharpening and adjusting colors a bit) but that's about it (no cropping.) Has anyone printed an image of this size, or larger, with their 350D?

There is a possibility the image will be printed on canvas, if that makes a difference.

And it sounds like the picture will be going in an office, so viewing will be from at least a couple feet I'm guessing.

Thanks

Ian

No problem going that large from an 8mp image.

Despite the facf that at this size the DPI is 100? Any thoughts on using something like Photoshop Bicubic Smoother to increase DPI?

Assuming you're sending this to a proper photo lab to do the work...just let them blow it up. They know what their equipment requires.

It absolutely depends on the quality of the image itself. If it is truly sharp where it is supposed to be sharp, you can go even bigger than that. If it's marginal, you can make great-looking 4x6 prints all day long but you won't be happy with posters.

It's a fairly good shot technically speaking. Somewhat low light but I think the important parts are sharp. Here is a lower res copy of the image in question -

I have sold about 40 24 x 36 prints, most taken with a 6mp camera (d60).

I use FM SI software, I think he now calls it resize pro

Have you printed any at this size without software?

Thanks

I've got several 24x36's printed from an 8mp 20D. The prints look great! Your 350D should be great too.
