Hi Carrol,

Great entry. Very nice sharpness and great use of depth of field. Good luck this week.

Nice light.
Looks kinda spooky.
But where did you get strawberries in December?

This is an awesome idea, but I would have less desaturated the eggs, I do not think it was necessary to show the point, and it gives too much of an unreal feeling IMHO.

This pops, Carrol. The red contrast to the egg colors is wonderful.--Frank

Fred, Thanks for your input; you make a good point! The reason I ended up desaturating the eggs is that they are brown eggs, and so the full color version did not show as much contrast (between the eggs and strawberry) as I would have liked.
I believe the better solution would've been to go back to the grocery store and buy white eggs! (but I only shot this last night, and opted not to go out again at the last minute.)
Thanks again for your comments. I always appreciate hearing how an images can be improved!

Hi Carrol! I really love it!! And I totally understand about the brown eggs! When I did my shoot, I only had brown eggs, too. I tried using markers to color them and it was a disaster. I had to borrow a white one from my Mom.

Love the red of the strawberry with all the neutral tones...great DOF, and lighting.
I think it's great!

Hi Carrol, I like this picture very much.
The balance of subtle de-saturation and the bright strawberry work great!

Didn't mean to overlook your post!
I just bought them at our local grocery store a few days ago... I guess the suppliers grow them in a Greenhouse.
thanks,
Carrol

Carrol,

Love the red. The details you have captured here really makes the shot for me. The speckles on the eggs and the seeds on the strawberry make me want to reach out and touch them. Very nicely done.
