And I'd really like to know the story behind this situation.

I spent the past weekend driving a "Sag Wagon" (support vehicle) for my daughter's cycling team as they did a two-day 220 mile training ride through the countryside near Santa Barbara, CA.

I also took the opportunity to document the weekend photographically. I was following the tail end of the group by stopping at turn outs every mile or so and came upon this real life "shoe tree" at one on my stops.

Cheers,
Jeff

Hi Jeff! Now that is just plain weird! But what a great capture for this WA. My question is, how is it attached to the tree? All the shoe trees I've ever seen (all one of them, ) have pairs of shoes hanging by their laces in the branches.

It's a delight that you captured this one for us to ponder.

Hope your daughter's team did well!!

Philly, I was not able to determine how it was attached, but something about it just had my mind reeling as to what the story of this shoe was.

As for the daughter's team, it was an absolutely wonderful weekend for them.

Thanks all for the comments!

Regards,
Jeff
