I wasn't going to post for this assignment due to my precious baby girl being sick all week, however as I was returning from the store, I saw a person dispose of their Cigarette and it landed on the brush. An interesting resting placement and it sort of has a little beauty to it, however I felt it was out of place. A different take for the WA I am sure. With all due respect and being non judgmental to the ones who do partake.

Hi Steve,

That is a great idea and your shot is very well executed. Good use of depth of field and the plume of smoke on the right is great. Very nice work. Good luck this week.

That's what is so great about the WA/MA, everyone's different ideas, creativity and take on the theme. This one definitely fits the theme. It is a great capture of dof, lighting, color and smoke action.

WOW, I think this is a fabulous shot, Steve, my friend! Horribly, and terribly fabulous, of course. How many must still be educated as to how long it takes for cigarette filters to deteriorate, and their damage to our ecology? (Okay, I'll get off my soap box. Having been a smoke, and just as guilty, I can't be too judgmental...but I haven't had one in 10 years so, good for me!)

You really did a great job with this one, in all aspects. I think we'll be voting on it!

Hope baby girl is all better soon!!!

Hey Steve! Thanks for the comments...although this wasn't really an idea but more of a capture of something I saw and it dawned on me that it can fit for the WA..Some will like, and others won't but still has a message and thats what I was trying to get.

Jamie, I do agree with what you said about the fun of the WA/MA.... you see a lot in people with interpretations... Not sure if I met you yet but glad to meet you and thanks for the comments.

Philly, I to understand where you are coming from because I have been around smoke for quite some time with people I know, staff meetings at restaurants, etc etc. You got my message and thats what I wanted to get across. Good for you for quiting the habit. I know how difficult that can be. Congrats and thanks as usual.

One thing I like about the weekly assignment is that it opens your eyes for photo opportunities like this one. Normally, you wouldn't give this a second thought, other than the rudeness of the careless cigarette disposal.

Good job!

Very nice Steve,
Yes that certainly looks out of place. A perfect WA entry.

Sometimes "right place, right time". Great color, DoF, and sharpness. Beauty can exist in almost anything and this shot has it.

See Ya, Chad

MMalleck, I couldn't agree more. Normally I would have walked right on or didn't pay it any mind, but because of the theme, stopped me in my tracks!! Thanks for the comment

This does have beauty in a different way. When I saw how it was laying and the colors and natural lighting, I had to have it. Thanks for commenting.

Good eye catching this, though it's a shame that people don't have the decency to put trash where it belongs. I like the DOF on this one a lot.

Steve,

Nice catch. Great choice on the DOF. The lighting worked well for you also.
