So a friend of mine said in passing last month that her husband's old leica was just sitting at home because the local camera shop couldn't repair it years ago. I told her I'd take a look and she dropped it off yesterday. Old M3 body has obvious dents/scratches, but appears to function OK. The lens was wrapped in plastic with a repair estimate from 1985: unrepairable. |

You can't use an M lens on anything but a camera with an M bayonet. The film-to-lens distance is a lot shorter than on any SLR. |
