Great shots Nick! They look focused to me, just a little motion blur in some. But given the subject (a crashing motorcycle!) I think they are just great.

Thanks very much, good to get a second opinion on this

This is one of an 18 frame crash sequence

Wow, was the driver seriously hurt?

10 fps doesn't seem so fast sometimes, does it?

Valerie, I spoke to the guy the next day, he fractured his hand and elbow. He asked for prints and I was happy to supply FOC.

Cheers

I just got my 1d on 9/18 and I took it out to test the AI Servo focus in bright sunlight. I couldn't get it to miss the focus.

Rodrigo, Nice images, well done.

I use Zenfolio, if you right click on the image you will see "show link", then you will see the "Direct Link to Images" which lists all the your image sizes and links.

Cheers

I think I will be using the 1DMk3 gradually more for shots that have tons of details, as from my comparison of my 1DMk3 and 1Ds, the 1DMk3 images are at least as good and not suffering in holding the details.

Thanks. I was well positioned but just as the racers were approaching the finish line a nitwit woman inside of the fence walked right into the middle of the road to take a shot with her cell phone.I was next to a fellow shooting the race for the sponser and I thought he was going to kill her with his 400 2.8. Both of us started screaming at her to get down and she just stood there clicking her f&^%ing phone. Fortunately, we both had barely enough time to move off to the side and shot around her and I think the other guy got a usuable shot as well.

Slau.... yikes...snow already. I know it's time but I'm not ready. We have snow here on our local ski hill... haven't been up there yet to see it.

No, those are not our (Canadian) snow and I am more than happy if they stay south of the border for a bit longer .

I picked up a new manufacture body with 1.1.0 last week, and it has been nothing but dead on...

There look to be a lot of high ISO action shots posted, so I'll contribute some studio/location work. Both of these images are coming from a body that is straight out of the box (No Cfn's set) w/ 24-70 2.8 L

First one is no PP at all, just a resize, the stray hairs should validate this.

Second one was a Mid-ISO, AI-Servo, and has also had no PP done.

The 1D Mk3 can be a very good landscape camera too.

I had hoped for more posting about this camera as Jeff suggested. Why isn't there more? Surely there are some who have done well with this body............
