Yesterday I received my "new" lens, which is a canon XI 50mm F0,75

Does anyone has more information about these XI series? Like from what year it is and what the main purpose of these lenses were?

I made a few dreamy shots with it... kinda fun to play with it.

They were used for machine vision. I don't know about that specific series, however. Bjorn Rorslett has some info about those kinds of lenses, however. What camera did you use it on?

Thanks,

I used the lens on a canon 300d while hand holding the lens because I have to find a mount for it. Also it can't focus to infinity, just close ups with a super thin dof.

It seems to be only useful for making dreamy flower pics cause of the narrow dof.

Is there a way to adjust this lens so that it can focus to infinity?
