On Sunday, I visited the Great Sand Dunes National Park. I took many photos of the dunes, some Sandhill Cranes, and the frozen Zapata Falls but only had time to edit one image so far ..

Excellent - the image has confirmed my intention to visit this area in the summer while touring Colorado. |

This is very nice, flattering light and the deer make a great lead-in. |

Having the deer in the shot definitely makes the scene, but this picture does nothing to stand out, in my opinion. Its too flat, too uniform. You're pulling out too much detail from the dark areas of the image and it detracts from the overall scene as a whole. If I were you, I would try to draw the viewer's attention to the deer first, and use them to establish the depth and flow of the image. |
