A pity, I downloaded some of the test images and CanCount won't open it!

Either way though, performance looks good though how much better it is over a 1D2N remains to be seen.....!

No trouble with the download but the glacier image, bottom left corner sure shows off the 17-40 in a terrible light. Too bad the image wasn't made with the newly announced 16-35.

The DR, looking at both the white water shot (left side by the paddle handle) and the glacier shot (both the clouds and the extreme white ice exposure), the sensor looks like it's very adapt at handling HDR exposures.

Picked this link up off of DPR. It allows you to hear what this puppy sounds like and if you're into French, you'll understand what the guy's saying as he does a bit of a live verbal tour of the back and top of the body.

It would have looked the same... that corner is clearly outside of DOF. The 17-40L does fine in the corner of a 1.25x crop sensor, as in this camera.

Looking forward to seeing some raw files sometime. They claim a benefit resulting from the change from 12-bit to 14-bit image data. I'm curious whether that benefit would show up in raw processing.
