I had a run in with the ref this weekend at the okstate-louisiana game. The good is that my 1D is fine but I cann't say the same for the 70-200 is lens. My question is does it matter which canon service department I sent it to? the one in NJ or CA? You can see the damage done here. ![]() Do you think it's repairable? David |

I feel sorry for you. Really I do. This is one of my favorite tools. Can't look to this picture too long. Argh, painful sight. Dell offer |

I haven't heard of any differances (read problems with either). I do seem to remember someone giving high praise for the NJ operation.. |

Ouch!!!! Oh man...... it hurts just to look at that picture. Hopefully you can get it fixed. Do you have insurance? I'm really curious what the specific circumstances were for this? It seems odd that the lens broke in half like that. |

NJ or CA can repair it for sure, but at what cost? Please keep us informed about the estimate to repair. Looks like it will be substantial. That picture is indeed painfull to look at. I hope you had collision insurance |

First let me say I am sorry to see what happened. But in kind spirits let me say, it's a good thing you had a protective filter on it. |

That is less than I was guessing by about $200.00 US. I sure hope it is "right" when you get it back. I still want to throwup when I look at the picture of that lens. |
