So I'm in the market for an inexpensive high quality MF telephoto....right now I've got it narrowed down to either a 300mm f4 Super Takumar, or a 300mm f4.5 Nikon (not the ED version). Which is the better lens, also which is the smaller/lighter lens?

The other thing to keep in mind is that I'll also be buying an adaptor for Canon EF....so in addition to wondering which is a better lens would you rather have an adaptor for Nikon or for M42?
