If there was an APS-C format successor to the 20D, and it had a viewfinder with, say 1.4x magnification, I'd drop my XT in B&S and upgrade in a second. That would be the single most useful thing on a cropped dSLR that I could imagine, if they could keep it bright enough.

An EOS 20D MK II wouldn't surprise me. But an EOS Elan Digital makes sense as a consumer DSLR above the Rebel XT. I'd prefer a real name rather than a stupid number. I only hope it has ECF...

It is going to be called 50D. Why am I the only one who thinks this name is logical?

It's not going to be 30D, because it's too close to D30.
It's not going to be 25D or 40D - those are odd numbers in Canon's lineup.

There's a 5D now, so it would be a logical extension if the next model under the 5D would be called 50D.

Yeh thats What I think too, 50D sounds like the next logical name for the new model.
