Does anyone have any idea what may be happening with the 24-105? I have been waiting patiently but now reaching a point where I need a lens (walk around). My question is this: Do I wait it out (and no one can seem to tell me how long) or opt for a different lens. Any thoughts on the matter are appreciated. |

Since there's nothing more frustrating than doing nothing, here's my suggestion: Go to the B&S forum and pick up a nice used lens. You should be able to sell it later for about the same price. Consider any small loss (say, shipping charge) to be a cheap rental fee. |

I'll go for the 28-135 IS, in the meantime. The 5D is full frame, so the perfect range is the 24-105 or 28-135. |

You will struggle to find one especially now that all of them have been recalled back by Canon. |

I deliberately shot into the sun yesterday late afternoon and did not have a problem. I'll keep you posted. |
