This is a 20 second exposure with my Fuji S2 and Nikkor 80-200 2.8 AFS.
The "smoke" is steam and the orange glow was caused by the sodium lights at this lumberyard. I hope everyone enjoys it.

Beautiful light. I also like the tones, and the sharp silhouette in contrast to the steam. Very well done.

I like this picture because it demands your attention. I was drawn to the (what seems like) vertical posts. At first it seemed like people standing around watching a fire. Then I concentrated on the tank and the smoke.

Great shot!

Very nice. I second what BF said. it draws you in, and does look like people. Nice gradient tones in the smoke and the snap of light. Mike

This really captures the imagination - it left me wondering what was causing the fog/smoke. There is a story to be found in this one. Nicely done. -z

Really nice capture. The light on the steam is perfectly captured and the logs in front do look like people or maybe aliens, very X-File like.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. This is the culmination of many nights this winter freezing trying to get it just the way I wanted it to look. It's nice to see the photo so appreciated.
Thanks again.

I love the way the 'fingers' are wriggling up toward the smoke. What were those things?

I appreciate the kind words of everyone very much. I'm happy you all like it.
Jeff, those fingers sticking up in the photo are logs that have been cut rejected.

Thanks again everyone.
