Local news photographer when President Bush visited our town last year. Looked like the 70-200L f2.8 IS USM and 16-35L f2.8 or 17-40L f4.

Weird, a fresnel lens snoot. Is that an old trick or someone's hacked together bleeding-edge telephoto-flash project?

And my 7-year-old younger son. He made the camera during woodworking class at school and put the correct brand name on it.

What a small world... that guy resembles me . Even with the goofy face!

Non IS 70-200/2.8 on 1Dmk2 and 17-35/2.8 on a 1Ds, and in the worn once a year photo vest is a spare battery for each body, a note pad, a Lens Baby (for down time- not coverage of the event) and a Quantum Turbo pack powering both flashes. The bare minimum to cover the event which was a visit of about 30 seconds by the president with us news guys put into the worst possible spot for photos. FYI- The paper supplies Nikon but they are in the shop too much and cost us photos pretty much daily so myself and the other photog at the paper don't trust them so they sit in the closet and we choose to use our own Canon gear.

A few shots from that event.

You are referring to the Better Beamer attached to the flash in one of the photos?

I snapped him at my brothers confirmation with my 20D. I kinda liked the movement and the DOF so i converted it along with the other shots.... He is having fun, you can tell by his smile.

I think this thread proves that we really do get out and shoot

By the way, that little wooden Canon camera shot choked me all up, he even spelled Canon right and that choked me up further. Put that shot on a Hallmark card and I'd be a blubbering idiot

Mike's picture remembered me of a picture I've got. Not very much action in it... but well, it's a Canon camera and a Canon lens
Kind of like, so I just made it my new avatar

'self-portrait' from the days I had long hair....

Lisa,

How about the little darling in person? I can arrange you to babysit him while my wife and I shop to our hearts' content in Cabazon. Of course the older one would be part of the package too.
