Pbase has been having alot of trouble with their servers lately. 99% of the time I click on a post with photos hosted on Pbase or try to browse a Pbase gallery I get red x's or URL not found or server problem error messages.

It has to do with this post because the photos are hosted by Pbase!

It seems they have things up and running again.... for now.

beautiful shots, #2 does it for me too!

OT, but webspace is fairly cheap, why dont more people use their own server space instead of services like PBase?

#2 beats #1 in a close one... both are excellent! Great job keeping the highlights under control.

Beautiful! I like the compo in #2 best I think.
Btw: How do you like the 1Ds-170-500 combination? Do you have to sharpen a lot?

Thanks all for the comments.

Tom,

They were taken in a zoo. It is located in France, Amnéville (North-east)

How do you like the 1Ds-170-500 combination? Do you have to sharpen a lot?

The combination is fine but I have to say that I'm really used to the 170-500 (bought it almost a year ago) and therefore I know what to do to get good results with this lens. I did a slight sharpening but it isn't really needed. The 1Ds produces much details.

I think pbase sucks

Pbase had to handle a lot of traffic after the Tsunami disaster. Some galleries were created and brought a high number of visitors. It seems to be back to normal now.
