Are you talking about the B.Osh lights that are being sold at www.albumsweb.com?

I have never found any info on them, but at $75 for a 300ws light. Even if it only works a year or two, you get your money's worth.

Does anyone know if their soft boxes & speed ring are compatible with Alien Bees & White Lightning flash? They have two different sets of soft boxes compatible with their own studio flashes.

Thanks,
Seth

I order a while ago and still havent gotten any information if they are shipping, or out of stock etc. No responces to my inquires, maybe one day a box of stuff will show up, who knows

I dont think ive even been charged yet. Im sure at those prices they got totally overwhelmed and who knows how many orders they can fill

They won't charge you till you get your stuff. If they run out of the stuff and they charged you they will go out of their way to contact you and inform you that they are refunding your money.

I don't think they knew what they were getting into when they did this internet sale. They have crashed their server twice and they are backlogged on orders to get their stock out of the warehouse. Two weeks ago, their there tons of items for sale that are no longer there.

I have ordered and received my items.
I did not receive 2 items but they were zero'd out on the invoice, probably out of stock. (2ea 12'8" Light Stands 39.95-%75=9.99 x2 = 19.98)

I did receive;
1 - LS 3218 Reflector holder, Boom Arm, Light Stand Combo
1 - 48" Gold Umbrella with gold coating on shaft and ribs
1 - 12" B.Osh Diffusor Translucent

All for 35.23 with shipping!
(Original total with shipping before %75 off was 111.68)

I ordered 2 600W monolights, a 24"x24" softbox, and a set of posing stools. They got me for $76 shipping. I couldn't believe it. It was such a good deal on the products that I went ahead with the order. I just hope I get them since I already sold all my portable flash stuff.

If you cant get them on the website, you can call them at 866-639-2528.

I got hit on shipping too, but I don't think it was unreasonable considering the weight of what I asked for.

I am loving the light stand, boom, reflector holder. Brilliant. Everythign just as asked for.

I just got my lights today. it took ten days to get it. I will do some tests, but not in time for the sale. So I will give you my impressions.

They pop off a nice flash. It is 0-100% power variable. Decent modeling light. In many ways it looks and seems VERY well put together. However, this sucker is BIG. I mean movie studio lights big. I measure about 17-18 inches long and 9 inches wide. This also makes it very heavy (well in comparison to an alien bee set up which is much smaller and lighter).

Really, it just seems like older tech equipment but nothing cheap. I am feeling really good about paying $75 for a 300ws strobe.

Tried out the B.Osh lights I got. They perform as well as any Alien Bee. Slower recycle time (with a loud audiable beep) and they are much heavier..but for $75 it was worth it.

I was looking at the site and about to pull the trigger but I had one question before I did it. Anyone who already has there lights from them would be able to answer this. I was looking at the barndoors, they attach to the end of the light reflector. Can anyone measure across there and let me know the size? I was wondering if they will fit the end of my AB reflector. I know the bosh reflector will not fit the bees, but wondering if the barndoors themselves will fit the end of AB reflector. I have read all of the post and looked up all the avaulable info on thru adorama and cannot find a measurement. Before I had found some grids that would fit the AB reflector, so I am beginning to assume that the reflector size is more common than I once thought.
On a side note, I recently purchased a Beauty dish from Imterfit and with very minimal modification got it to fit My bee. Simply making the attachment hole smaller, it fits like a champ.

Thanks for any info,
Chris

Dragonfly,

Your pictures are great. How many 300w bosh lights are you using. I am getting ready to make an order for my home studio and I was just wandering.

thanks

I used two 300ws lights and a reflector/boom I got from them as well. One of the lights had the large softbox and the other had the beauty dish.

Thanks for the compliments.

Chris...all of the B.Osh stuff has a special attachment to it that would not make it possible to use on another system. It is a lot like the turret mount on a camera.

I amazingly got my stuff as well minus 1 300watt light. For the money its decent but I sure wouldnt pay full price for it.

The reflectors for example just dont open flat and taught, but are a bit loose, the softboxes are a pain to put together, the beauty dish looks like something someone made at home from a wok, etc etc

For the money Im not complaining though, its still USEABLE gear but I dont know how long it will last.

They still have some softboxes etc left for sale but as others said, I dont think they'd work with much else. The strobes were really the only real "steals" and hey for $75 each, I sure wish I had bought more

I received one 600ws light and carrying case. Have three CY strobes on order and a tripod. The tripod is one that Amvona carries. I haven't seen it elsewhere.
