I continue to be very pleased with the performance of the D800... keeper rate has gone up dramatically.

D800 | 300 f/4 w TC-14E II

All C&C are greatly encouraged and most appreciated.

Kirk

[Edit] Karl's keen eye persuaded me to add a bit of contrast to the Greenies... thanks Karl, they're much better.

1. Northern Shoveler ~ 1/3200 f/5.6 Auto ISO 250

2. Greenie Incoming ~ 1/3200 f/5.6 Auto ISO 450

3. Greenie on the Deck ~ 1/2500 f/5.6 Auto ISO 450

4. Marbled Godwit ~ 1/3200 f/5.6 Auto ISO 560

5. Ms. Red-breasted Merganser ~ 1/2000 f/5.6 Auto ISO 400

Kirk - nice set, the D800 looks to doing well in your hands. #1 looks like a Northern Shoveler and not a Mallard.

Yikes...who needs 11fps to get one good one when you can get shots like these at less than half that rate! Top shelf shots Kirk. (by the way the answer to the first question is me )

A darned good looking set Kirk, with #1 making me pause for a good long look. That's a beauty.

Gold my friend pure gold. I scrolled through these and each one brought all sorts of thoughts of praise to my mind. You sure are skilled Kruk, even if you have a funny name. Seriously between your techs and your style you shots truly do stand out from the rest. Real eye candy my friend. You won me over with the first but even an easier shot, such as 3, is an excellent execution. Super work Kirk!

Kirk, Very nice set. My personal favorite is #1.

What do you attribute the increase in keeper rate to with the D800? Is it ISO, the ability to crop in more, or something else?

Thanks for sharing the images and information.

Jason
