You applied a magical formula that I learned as an elementary school teacher:
There are times when it is necessary to explain things so that the dumbest student will understand it . When I did, I was confident that the others also understood .
When it comes to understanding the world of digital gimcrackery- I shamefully admit to being in the dumbest 5% of those who keep trying.

Excellent tutorial...I use the surface blur filter rather than the noise reduction filter but the end result is the same.
