Modifications enabled with this upgrade of firmware, release date November, 27, 2012 (A:1.03 / B:1.02)

Yes but it will cost you about $4000 for the software.

My D4 works so good I'm afraid of screwing it up with a firmware update! I remember making my Canon 1DMKIII go from awesome to aaahh crap in one swoop of a firmware update!

So this only help if you are using the TC2x III?

Yup - weren't some people having an AF-C focus consistency problem? I'll bet there's a few special fixes in there that aren't in the documentation.

Always how it seems to go with japanese electonics companies. Now hopefully the also add whatever fixes there are to the D800's af system...

There usually are more fixes and tweaks than they admit to.

i'd like to hear from anyone who has done the upload if there are other benefits, as well as if there are any downsides, before doing the upgrade. thx.

I will update it for sure. The other day my D4+400/2.8 vr+tc x2 III couldn't focus on the eagle because of lack of contrast : milky sky. I hope the update helps.

I just did the firmware update. I don't currently use a tc, I am wondering if I will notice any difference in the AF.

Have people been complaining about the D4's AF? i haven't heard that many complaints about the D4. Don't have a TC 2.0 and why would I want to put Format in My List. Improving the AF would be a plus, but currently it seems excellent, better than the D3s.

Getty had so many issues with them that they only use them for remote cameras at sporting events right now.
