I love the design in theory because they are foldable like an umbrella and the speedring inserts screw in and out so they can fit different manufacturer's lights. |

Take a look in the small fastener section (banks of metal drawers) of HD or Lowes for oblong washers. Being in Ohio you likely have ready access to automotive fastener stores. You will be surprised at the variety they carry. Failing that, get larger washers and Dremel them to shape. |

I've been using them for about a year now with my ABs and I never felt like it was going to fall apart. I am an on location shooter so I have to open/close it on every shoot. I've even used it when it was really windy outside(with an assistant holding the unit). |

I also have the 36" octabox as well as a 1/2 dozen other of their boxes. Whether you felt like it was going to fall off or not, it's definitely possible for it to come out which I have proven (unfortunately) by experience. |
